Brook

Most kids dream of running away with the circus, but not Brook. Quite simply because she was already there working as a tightrope walker and acrobat for the greatest circus in all of Darokin, Karameikos, and surrounding lands. For all but the first few months of her life she has been an orphan but no one is ever alone with the circus, they take care of their people. However, apart from that there was virtually nothing Brook knew about where she had come from and when bad nasty things made her do what no kid could imagine and run away from the circus, it left her alone.

In Tabula Rasa, our old friend Prospero tells Caliban Montaya the events that went before that left her the blank slate she is.

Nothing stays blank forever. Her running brought her straight into the arms of some real nasty people before she found the good guys. Suffice it to say that hijinx ensued as The First Etchings were made on a trip through and beneath the Broken Lands. (Part One and Part Two).

Some of her experiences before running left her kinda scarred and dreams just can't hold up to that kinda thing. She has a bitter tongue at times and it's usual message is that All Men are Bastards.

She may not be a kid anymore but she still has her dreams. She doesn't believe that they can ever come true but sometimes it's easier to let them play then to face the loneliness and desperation when your social skills only exist as a means to alienate yourself further. At least There is Nothing to Fear in the Dreaming except that which you bring into it yourself.

Leaving Home Ain't Easy, but sometimes you've just gotta do it. With the help of a magic carpet Brook found a whole new world, a potential friend, and a startling realisation. That sometimes you don't know where home is until you can't get back to it anymore.

War is upon the Known World and another quest brings the party to old acquaintances and new. Not all of them are as tolerant as the good friends she doesn't know she has, but with Tania Nikolsk it is always Truth Be Told.

Except that which you bring into it yourself. Brook has one helluva lot of bad stuff to bring into her dreams and sometimes it can surface quite horribly. Just one push is all it takes and now she stands on the brink of a new horizon because In Our Waking Hour everything can change.

You can't stay afraid forever. After a few False Starts, Brook has some ideas on how to give it another go...

It's hard to stay a kid when you've just saved the world. Finally that most awful question 'Who Are You?' gets an answer with a little Immortal influence and it's time to see some Changes that could start a whole new story....
